Add fixed left and right arrows below portfolio page questions

I’ve added a left and right arrow to the bottom of the portfolio items only via conditional tagging. How would I configure the left and right arrow to switch from “Example Portfolio Item 1′ to ‘Example Portfolio Item 2’?
Any assistance would be AWESOME!!!!!
