Add HTML before event content – Shortcodes don't work/ Page Title issue

    Hi,

    Two issues:

    1. When I go to the Add HTML before event content section, I enter in a shortcode used by my theme or any popular free plugin, e.g. BBPress (works fine when adding new post/page) and it does not display on the events page – it simply outputs the shortcode. I have entered it into the visual and text boxes of the editor.

    Is this normal or an issue with my theme?

    2. On the main events page – demo.mydomain.com/events in my case; it outputs the most recently added event as the page header – So in my case, instead of outputting say ‘events’ as the page header, it instead outputs ‘Cycle Event’ which is the most recent event I have added/closest upcoming event..

    Is that normal or an issue with my theme?

    Hi Center11Forward,

    Please note that we can only check this forum once a week, so it may take a while to get an answer.

    The first issue you note is not an issue with your theme. Those Add HTML before Event fields can only take HTML, not short codes. You might try customizing your templates to add that shortcodes in.

    The second issue you note is likely related to your theme. Have you tried switching to a default theme like Twenty Twelve? If you can isolate this as an issue that’s inherent to The Events Calendar, we’d be happy to look into it further. Unfortunately, we can’t help troubleshoot conflicts here on the free forum. If you do find a conflict, you can try getting in touch with the developer of the theme or plugin and see if they can shed some light on the issue.
