• OK, I posted this 3 years ago and finally figure out how to turn the aurtor’s name above a post into a hyperlink that would pull their profile info into a page on the fly so my reader’s could click on it to see who had written the post.

I have been trying for days to find a way to make the author’s name at the top of each blog show up as a hyperlinked to a page that will display that author’s personal user_description along with other personal information. I have search and found nothing that works of course, I’m not the hottest of programmers but still nothing accomplished.

Now three years later my HD has crashed and needless to say the HD in my head has crashed also…I can’t remember for the life of me how I did it.

I’ve searched but have not found a plugin that does it…does anyone have any idea how to accomplish this now.

  • Hi

Here’s a little plugin – see if what it does fills your needs. It doesn’t make a full page but an inplace window appears when the author link is clicked. The demo is displaying a very small window. The plugin says it makes a hidden Div visible when clicked, which means you can vary the size of the div to what you want it to be, and style it as you like in your stylesheet.

    Stvwlf,

Thanks loads for the link…works just great

Thanks again for your response…I don’t know much but if I can ever help you, let me know

Since you have to edit your theme to use that to function you could just as easily add that as a theme function.

It essentially just mimics what the author.php file does on a smaller scale inside a toggled DIV element.
