I recently updated WP to 4.5 and also updated my Silence Theme. Now the Add Image button will not open the screen with all of my saved images. I also noticed that I have to use the right side bar to scroll down to place my cursor on the spot where i need the image. The I have to use the right side bar to move the screen to the top to find the ADD IMAGE button. In the past I was able to move the page entry to the top and see the options at the top which I use to change the content of the text. This ability to move the screen up and down is no longer a function.

  • Do you use a plugin for organizing media at all?

Yes, and that was the cause of the problem. Here is the solution as provide by our support team:

I believe it was the Headspace 2 plugin that was causing issues with your media button, I disabled the plugin and the Media button
    was now working now!

The editor panel now expanding to the full height of the content is a “feature” not a “bug” in WordPress. Thankfully you
can disable it if you really don’t like it! When you’re editing a post or a page, at the top right click the button
for “Screen Options” and uncheck “Enable full-height editor and distraction free functionality.” I’d try it for a few days
and see if you get used to it.

If you’re still using the Headspace 2 plugin, you can enable it again under Plugins -> Installed Plugins. I think the Yoast SEO
plugin already has the same features.
