When I am trying to add an image to a post or page I am getting these long errors:

  • 1. Does this happen with all images – including .gif & .png files?
    2. Have you asked your hosts if they have the latest version of GD Library installed?

This only happens with Jpegs however I do not get .gif and .png files to work either. I never get to the step where I can insert into post.

    What about point 2?

I’ve been trying to make minor changes to a few pages of my site. Uploading some small .png files to replace an old one on https://nexsale.ca/contactus. These are sub 30Kb files, i.e. very small.

The flash uploader finds the files on my PC and the uploader has alternately crashed or told me it’s 100% crunched and ready. I see the file thumbnail as is normally the case, but when I select “add to post” we go into never never land, i.e. WordPress reports “waiting for nexsale.ca” and eventually Firefox reports that the connection to the server was reset and I’m back to square 1.

I did suspect that there was some issue when the flash gallery did not offer to show me files uploaded in June even though I just uploaded some files through flash loader. Browser loader issues are identical to the flashloader. I then uploaded files via a separate FTP client and verified that they were there. A few sessions later I could see those “June” files through flash uploader. I selected the file for insertion into my page, clicked on “add to post” and the problem recurred.

I can successfully make changes to text on my site.

Did the upgrade from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 and issues are the same. My Hosting company “Go Daddy” advised that these are WordPress issues. My site is functioning normally.

I ran a php file that that came up with the following results:

As you can see I can upload a .jpg to my server through wordpress but I still get the errors and cannot insert the picture into my page or post. To upload images I have to allow for the errors, go to the Media tab, copy the file location, and then write the HTML code to insert into my page. I did just update to the latest release and am wondering if that had anything to do with the issue I am having. @esmi Thank you for your help so far.

That GD version should be OK. Perhaps there’s an issue within the .jpgs themselves?

I hope that this might assist. The problems as identified in my post above exist only when using Firefox and IE9. I have been able to complete the upload and placement of both .jpg and .png files (the same files i tried before) using Chrome.

I have subsequently retried with all three browsers separately and only Chrome is working when I try to insert image files. Very odd indeed as I’ve had no issues with FireFox up to now.

I found out that most of the problem is with my server. They are moving my site over. It works best with Firefox. Thank you for all the help.
