Add latest post from selected categories on landing page

  • Hello,
    I am attempting to add the latest post from each category onto my landing page.
    The website is cigarsuckers.com

    If possible, I would like to use shortcode, or use some php, but I can drop php in, but I don’t know how to create it, and my editing skills are kinda ok.

    please note that the code needs to be able to be put between a set of divs, and I will need multiple instances of the same code, but with different categories, on the same page.
