Add Like Button To Slide Images

Hi @wordpresssites if the buttons have a shortcode. You can use the manual caption field:

No. I tried that and they’re not clickable.

They either need adding use a filter or jQuery.

Thanks @wordpresssites. We’ve regularly tested shortcodes inside and they do work – they are clickable. Can you let us know which one wasn’t working?

We are adding a new button feature in the next MetaSlider release which is due on Monday.

you can use this filter to add custom content to slide captions:

add_filter('metaslider_image_caption', 'custom_metaslider_image_caption', 10, 1);
function custom_metaslider_image_caption($caption) {
    $caption = '[custom content or html] ' . $caption;
	
    return $caption;
}

For a more advanced insertion of custom content/code, please take a look to metaslider_image_flex_slider_markup filter on inc/slide/metaslide.image.class.php line 814 to see the available args. Since this filter allows contains the whole slide <li> tag, please be careful to not break the slideshow.

Do you have a function to get the id foreach slide?

You can use the WordPress function get_posts to query the slides:

$slides = get_posts(array(
            'post_type' => array('ml-slide'),
            'tax_query' => array(
                array(
                    'taxonomy' => 'ml-slider',
                    'field' => 'slug',
                    'terms' => [ENTER SLIDESHOW ID HERE]
                )
            )
 ));
