‘Add Logo’ in customiser forces me to crop image

Hi, Last week, I begun creating a WP website with Storefront and Woocommerce, and was able to add my logo to the header using customiser. This week I decided to start afresh in a new subdomain, same setup, but this time I can’t stop the customiser cropping my logo square (1:1 ratio). There is no “skip cropping” option.

Is this a known issue for storefront or a more general WP problem? Why was it OK last week but not this week? Any help greatly appreciated because I’ve been stuck on this for hours.
