    My add media and screen options button is not working after the 3.9 update. I can still add featured images but that’s it.

    I have tried disabling plugins and bringing them up one by one. Nothing.

    The problem is the same in firefox, chrome and IE

    It seems ‘theme’ specific as I can switch to another theme and the buttons work, but this is NOT an option. I have an established theme that I purchased some time ago, I like it and I have no intention of switching.

    I have used the script debugger in chrome that identified various JQUERY errors, however is the debugger supposed to correct these? Because having me look at code is ridiculous?

    If there is no relatively easy fix can you tell me how to roll back to the previous version of WordPress?

    Then you will need to take this up with the theme developer. www.ads-software.com does not support premium themes.

    No. Debugger runs in your browser. It does not talk to the server.. so it does not ‘fix’ anything. It is used to help you identify the source of the errors, so you can fix them (or have the theme developer fix them).

    It is not recommended to roll back a version of WordPress. Older versions lack updated security measures and numerous other advantages. However, if you must, I’m sure you could Google for a guide on how to roll back WordPress.

    Of all the wordpress updates, I haven’t had any issues until this update? This is crazy. They need to fix this. I have seen other support posts and apparently im not alone…but thx.

    You’re not alone, but the cause for your issue may be yours alone :/ Which I know sucks to hear.

    I have tried disabling plugins and bringing them up one by one. Nothing.

    To clarify – You turned them all off, verified it didn’t work, and then turned them back on?

    Also remember to check with the default theme.

    Yes I turned them all off and then activated them one at a time and tested the ‘add media’ button functionality.

    I have posted in the support forum on themeforest (where I purchased my theme) for assistance, which may or may not come….so we’ll see.

    If I could somehow ‘rollback’ to the earlier version of wordpress that would be a good temporary fix until my theme designer or another wordpress update comes out. I realize the inherent security risks of doing that but right now my blog is dead in the water and anything at this point is better than have a blog I can no longer use…..

    Let me Google that for you.

    But, please be careful. Take backups… especially your wp-content directory and your databases.

    *cough* Jooosh, we don’t lmgtfy ??

    You CAN drop the 3.8.3 files on top of 3.9 without causing harm to your site, though it’s generally not the best way around it.

    In your case, the options are

    * Use the text editor only
    * Use a different theme
    * rollback
    * Wait

    They all kinda suck :/ But sadly that theme is doing things weirdly to cause this error.

    Thanks.

    I actually typically do use the text editor, and just use the ‘add media’ button to throw images in there. I can upload images to the media library and then manually <img src> the images in there, but that’s such pain. I’ll take all the suggestions here and try to ‘band-aid’ this situation as best I can until something changes either on wordpress’s side or the theme designer over at themeforest.

    Thanks

    Ahhh… my first slap on the hand. Oh, I feel the burn! The handbook… I’ll read the handbook immediately ??

    @dlawyer.. please accept my sincerest apologies. I’m new to the mods here.. and still learning the ropes. If there is ANYTHING I can do to further help you, just say the words!!

    If you’d like… I can provide you with my contact form.. and I can help you find the specific issues.

    Again, my apologies ??
