• I can no longer use the Add Media uploader… When I click on it, the Media Library Tab appears blank with a spinning icon that never goes away. The “Upload Files” tab does not work either… It simply errors out at the very end of the upload.

I have gone through many different troubleshooting steps and found out that it is the theme… When I switch back to one of the original WordPress templates, the errors go away. So, it has to be a javascript issue, right?

When I look at the Safari source code, I see one error:
[Error] TypeError: ‘undefined’ is not a function (near ‘…setColor})})(jQuery)(function($){var EYE…’)
    global code (color-picker-js-files-minified.js, line 1)

Could this be the problem? if so, does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for your assistance!

  • Started having the exact issue. Was working fine on Saturday, but this morning started having the same issues as you. Checked plugins, but the last one modified\updated was on Friday.

When I view source, I am seeing POST /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
500 Internal Server Error errors generated as the screen that should display media stays blank and in a constant state of loading. If I try to upload, WordPress reports HTTP Error. I verified that the file permissions for my uploads directory is correct.

However, I can access my media library with no issues, yet still get the HTTP Error when uploading. TO make things even stranger, even though I get the error, the image does show up in my media library.
