I am using “Simple Portfolio” to show the Images, with text under the image.

You have a “Caption Title Source” and a “Caption Description Source” with a drop-down to choose which field you want to show from the image.

That only gives you 2 out of the 4 fields to use under the image.

I need to use all 4, how can I do this?

I decided to try adding a HTML table with information in it, and for the most part it works… just not liking having to add in a paragraph worth of HTML within the Description field.

So I decided to install a plugin called “Shortcoder”, where I can put the block of HTML into a Shortcode. This would make it easier to place just the shortcode in the field quickly.

However, the gallery image block does not like it and just shows me the name of the shortcode, not the content of it.

    Ideas?

    Hi

The caption area does not support shortcodes unfortunately, so you would have to use HTML.

We have a feature on our backlog that allows you to build your captions from 1 or many sources, so you could do what you are wanting.

We have not started on that feature unfortunately.

Checking up on the progress of Short-code usage & additional captions.
The maintenance of having to edit each one by hand is painful to do for every year we create new products. I do need to utilize all 4 of the fields to show and not just the 2 though.

Here is my work issue… I get a list of products in a spreadsheet every year with JPG images that needs to be displayed on the website. I need a method to import the data, then the plugin would display the product in a gallery style. Each column name in the spreadsheet would be the name of the Short-code to be used to populate if that is the ideal method of making it work. Having to edit each image with manually with html, in the 2 spots allowed, is too time consuming. I have to do this on 2 websites and I don’t know if the NextGen importer you have would help that.

The gallery has so much potential to do more, even could be used as a Direct File Downloads page for Zip files if there was an option to add a Button!

    Any update to this?

I have a new large spreadsheet again for this upcoming year and wanting to still use your plugin.

This feature is still on our backlog, as we are working on other items at the moment. I am not sure when it will be ready, but will likely only be in a few months
