add new page of posts…

Hi there,
Im a noob to WP and I have a silly question. How can I create a new page of posts? such as, how can I continue the postings to a new page so it doesnt get too long on the main page and the viewer has to scroll forever?
i tried adding a ‘new page’, but of course that creates a new page which then adds it to the navigation which I dont want.

eventually i want a menu at the bottom of the page numbers so the viewer can click to the page they want to go to for easy navigation.

any info and advice would be great!!! Thanks ??
