Add New Post & Quick Edit Not Working 5.1.1

    I’m running 60+ WP Sites on my server, all been running fine until this update (5.1.1)

    So, I am using as the site to report the issue as its extant on this site.

    ISSUE 1
    When I click ADD NEW (post) I arrive at this page
    /wp-admin/post-new.php

    However the admin topper and left-bar load up as expected but then rest of the page where the block editor should be is blank including the block editor sidebar. If there was an image upload on this support thing I would have screenshot the page.

    ISSUE 2
    When viewing all POSTS I click on QUICK EDIT and nothing happens.

    Both issues noted above are happening on ALL sites on my server that have updated to 5.1.1. Bear in mind these sites have differing themes and plugins.

    I’ve reset permalinks, removed ALL plugins, and even re-installed the core to try to resolve this.

    So then I went to a site that I hadn’t yet updated to 5.1.1 and everything works. So I thought OK lets push this site to 5.1.1 – so I carried out the upgrade to 5.1.1 and BOOM! Same problems.

    So to be absolutely sure I just created an absolutely clean install of 5.1.0 on the server – worked great. Added a theme (Still Working), Added some plugins (Still Working), added some more plugins (Still Working), even changed the table names in the DB (Still Working), changed the permalinks (Still Working), added some images (Still Working), removed some plugins (Still Working) ….

    Updated this clean site to 5.1.1 …. BOOM – there’s the issues now in this clean install.

    So how do I fix this?

    I forgot …

    To be absolutely sure this wasn’t anything to do with anything on my sever!

    I just went onto another server I have – installed a completely clean install of 5.1.0 – repeated all the steps I did on the clean install on the other server and it all worked fine.

    upgraded to 5.1.1 – and there’s the issues again.

    The first server is a WIN2012 R2 IIS7 box.
    The latter is a Linux box.

    So … update …

    I seem to be experiencing what a lot of other WP users are experiencing but let me be specific to my own experience.

    Today, I did a 100% clean default install of WP 5.1.1 – no themes or plugins into a clean database.

    Logged in.

    Clicked Media Library.

    All that shows is “MEDIA LIBRARY” and the “ADD NEW” button … the rest of the pages is just the plan great. Thats it. Nothing else.

    This was on our Windows 2012 R2 box.

    So I did the same thing on our Linux box … got EXACTLY the same result.

    In the same installs the ‘QUICK EDIT’ link under posts or pages isn’t working.

    I am beginning to believe that this release of WP is so very full of bugs that WP Should either fix it or withdraw it.

    Clearly over 4 MILLION installs of the Classic Editor is something that WP needs to take heed of.
