Add New User causes role to be changed

Hi,
I have a regular multisite setup with this plugin activated (latest version of everything). Experiencing an error as stated below:
Steps to reproduce:
– Enable this plugin network-wide
– Go to one of the sites and leave the “Register” checkbox unchecked
– Go to Users > Add User on that site
– Enter details under “Add New User” and change the role to “Author”
– Check the box “Skip confirmation email”
– Press “Add New User”
– Go back to the Users page to view your usersExpected Behaviour:
– The new user has role “Author” as indicated
Actual Behavriour:
– The new user has role “Subscriber”Note 1: Disabling this plugin leads to the correct expected behaviour, so I’ve narrowed it down to this plugin somehow causing this issue.
Note 2: I have disabled all other plugins except “Akismet”Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
