add new user glitch?

  • HI, i am testing out the add new user thing.

    i ve sent out an invite as admin, with password to my bfs email,
    he receives the following message:

    “Thanks for registering for Making A Living! Your registration is currently being reviewed. You will not be able to login until it has been approved. You will receive an email at that time. Thanks for your patience. “

    I receive a message with a link to appove membership at my admin email address, when i follow the link i get this message:

    “Looks like that user has already been approved. ‘
    it is under the heading absolute privacy, which i have added as a plug in. At the moment i have the site locked down…. maybe this has something to do with it?

    not entirely sure how i can approve the new user i have added, and release the password i sent them, it seems very circular, and i cant find a button to approve.

    can anyone please point me to it?

  • The request should show up on the “Users” page, where you can approve or delete the request. If not, you can click on “Add New” and add them manually.

    thats the weird thing, the user is added immeadeatly, however they are not sent any type of confirmation email, not the password that i allocated for them when i added them as a new user.

    they appear to be added as an admin but cant log in with the allocated password.

    there is no request section anywhere that i can see…

    ??? I’m confused!

    You might want to check in “Discussions” look at the section called “Before a comment appears” and see if the settings there comply with how you want them to be handled.

    If that is all o.k. then you might want to try disabling that plug in and re-testing.
