Add New User hangs for 2 minutes!

  • Just moved WP3.2 from one server to another, everything seemed to go well, even though we changed the location of our wp-content folder during the move (actually, changed the whole directory structure.)

    Now when I add a new user (or register as new user) the browser stalls for 2 minutes every time. The browser says waiting for https://www.website.com….

    When we add a user from ie8 (instead of Firefox) we see an error when we tab into the first name field “Message: ‘undefined’ is null or not an object” in load-scripts.php

    This is the only error we see except for a “directory index forbidden by options directive” error in the error log.

    We can quickly add pages or posts no problem.

    Things we have done and tried so far:
    Disabled all plugins
    deleted plugins that had anything to do with registration
    Upgraded to WP 3.2 (we were on 3.1.1 before the move)
    Activated default theme, but still getting the issue

    Anyone know where to start on troubleshooting this one? We’ve been testing and searching for almost 8 hours so far!

    I’ve isolated the problem. I renamed sendmail to sendmail.sav and the new user add returned immediately with no delay – and the user created successfully.

    So now moving on to troubleshoot sendmail.
