    Hi,

Can I add “normal” content to a woocommerce shop page?

On the given page, we would need to add some initial content for the page, a paragraph, where we can explain in a few words what the customer will find on that page.

Is it supposed to be edited?

In WordPress Customizer I can only change WooCommerce settings, but not add any content.

We do use Elementor for that project, but if I click on “Edit with Elementor” for that page in the WP backend, I get an error message “Sorry, the content area was not found on your page”.

Maybe you already know, what the problem could be here.

Best regards and thank you in advance

    Markus

    Hello @webmark487,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Yes, you can certainly add “normal” content to a WooCommerce shop page. However, the WooCommerce shop page is a special type of archive page that isn’t typically editable with page builders like Elementor. This is most likely why you’re seeing the error message.

To add content to this page, you can use a workaround. You can create a new regular page, add your content there using Elementor, and then set this page as your new shop page. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

    1. Create a new page and add your content (including the paragraph you mentioned) using Elementor.
    2. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Shop Page.
    3. Select the new page you’ve created as your Shop Page.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions.

    It don’t work.

I tried to create a new page, edit it with and without Elementor, but in any way, it simply don’t work.

After you create the page and add the content ( simply a title in my case) you can see it normally. But when you set this page to the “shop page” at WooCommerce, the content (the title in my case) disappear.

    Hey, @claudio65!

Per WordPress forum guidelines, would you mind opening up a new thread for this so that we can keep things organized and offer more personalized support for you? We’ll be happy to help you out with this over there!

    Have a wonderful day!

Sorry if I broke any rule.

But don’t need another thread, the problem actually is related to Astra theme issues. Using Storefront it works.

    Thank You!
