• I want to run an offer on my store, where I give a free item to users who sign up on my mailing list.

I will provide a coupon code for the user to use at my store, where they will enter the code and the item’s price will be removed from the cart.

I would like the coupon to only be valid if the customer is making a purchase of another item. I do not want to be in a situation where a user simply adds the item to their cart, uses the code, receives a balance total of $0 and completes the transaction.

Only will customers receive the free item as an added bonus to another purchase.

I’m not sure what settings I can modify in Woocommerce to make it such that a user can only get the coupon discount if another item is in the cart.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

I don’t believe there is a feature exactly like that with the default WooCommerce.

However, you can set up a Usage Restriction for the coupon.

So, for example, you can set the coupon to be a 100% rebate for a specific product but, the coupon will only work if a minimum of $50 is spent in the cart.

You can see how that works over here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/coupon-management/

    Hope this helps!

    PS
Don’t forget to change the usage limits so they can’t get that item multiple times for free. Unless that is what you want ??
