When will the next update be available? I’m using this plugin on a client site and need the date/time meta for each post.

Other suggestions would be:

1. Adding a category icon/colour that displays alongside each post of that category, allowing upload of custom category icons or using an icon font by default.

2. A ‘View All Posts’ link that gets added after a list of posts, only if the user is showing one category.

I think if you could add these things it would be the best and most flexible recent posts from category widget around.

Also, I tried using the shortcode generator on the new version but it wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t include my categories even though I listed them as you’ve stated, “2,3,4”. Here’s what it output:

Thanks for posting your issue,

1. Option to change color of cat title is already available in Pro Version, However if you understand html/css code enough you can do it your self in free version also by adding custom css in custom header code box….

2. The category title is already linking to category archives, so “view all posts” was not added, however will consider it to add soon,

The include only category will be fixed in update going to be live in few hours…

What I managed to do with the old plugin is add “.$cat_title->name.” as a class on the ‘rpfec_box’ div and then added a div with the class ‘rpfec_icon’ within that. That way I could add category icons as background images on the element of each class. So for example, for my ‘News’ category I’ve added a news background image to the class ‘.recent-posts-show-cat-icon .News .rpfec_icon’. However, my client doesn’t want the category icons on every page, just the Home page, so I’m going to use jQuery to use the page title as a body class for each page and hide the ‘rpfec_icon’ div on everything but the Home page. The way I’m using the plugin is to display 1 column of posts rather than the masonry style layout. Obviously the ideal would be allowing the user to upload and add icons to each category in the backend but I understand this would be difficult.
