    Hi,

I am not sure if this is a WordPress, Google Analytics, or Events Calendar issue. I would like then someone clicks on a link from my site to an external site, there is a reference code at the end of the URL. Example: Google.com/?ref=nameof website.

I’ve seen this and other methods attached to an external URL. Not sure if this is something I can set up when someone clicks the ‘visit website’ text from my calendar listings which sends them to another site.

    Thank you!

    Hi @nycplugged

    Thanks for reaching out.

If you’re experiencing the issue, our plugin does not support the behavior you describe. However, you could try deactivating all your plugins and use a default theme (2020 theme), and activate the plugins one by one and check which plugin is causing the ?ref=nameof website

    See- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/

If you would like to have that kind of feature, you could try searching for UTM parameters related to analytics.

I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have other questions or concerns.

I think what I am looking for is UTM parameters. Is there a way to have to populate automatically for external links?

    Hi @nycplugged

    Thanks for your response.

Your desired use-case scenario may be possible with some custom coding, but if you decide to give that a try, please note we cannot provide full support for custom implementations like that.

However, you could try searching Google for related plugins or custom scripts that address the customization.

Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns.
