• Hi,
I’m looking for an alternative to the slider used in the leaf theme. Couple of questions:

    1. Is it possible to add new sliders using plugins? If so is it very complicated?

    2. Does anyone know of a slider similar to the one used in the following theme? If not is it possible/legal to take sliders from other themes on the web?

[ Moderator note: link changed to real link, please don’t do that here ]

Thanks in advance for your help.

There are many sliders available and one of them may work for you.

I personally find sliders to be complicated but YMMV.

It really depends on the theme author. If the slider code is GPL’ed and you maintain credit then that code may be used or work for you. Check with that theme author when in doubt.

    Hi Jan,
    Many thanks for your reply.
I’m fairly new to all this and I agree, the sliders seem very complicated.

Having looked at the possible plugins I’m thinking maybe that I could edit the current slider? Do you know if it is possible to edit the width of the slider and alter the transition of the images?

    Thanks again,
    Shaun
