Add Site Using Multisite or Not

I’ve been thinking about adding my new domain (sells clothing) via multisite to an existing blog site (provides football information). As you can see both sites are totally different. My current WordPress Pigskin Fanatic Blog site works great! The reason I want to use the multisite install is so I can use plugins on both sites.

I’ve been designing web pages using Dreamweaver and I can’t use plugins.

If I use the multisite installation, can I use different plugins on each site without one sites plugins interfering with the other sites plugins? And since they are totally different sites, can each of them look totally different?

I’ve been reading a lot of pages in this topic area concerning problems others have had and are having using the multisite feature and I must say my head is still spinning.
