• Just installed the latest version of WordPress in my laptop and started using it. I noticed that some of the features are missing, such as “Add Slider”, “Template” under Page Attributes and so on. How can I add all the missing feature? Thanks in advance.

  • Are you using the default TwentyFourteen theme? None of the default themes for WordPress (TwentyFourteen, Twenty Thirteen, etc) have a slider. It’s possible it was a feature of another theme that you were using, or perhaps a plugin. TwentyFourteen, TwentyTwelve, and TwentyEleven do have templates, but TwentyThirteen does not.

Thanks for your response. Yes I did use one of the default themes which came with WordPress download for practice. However, I downloaded Soliloquy plugin which added the Slider to my Dashboard but the “Template” under Page Attribute is still missing. The Page Attribute is located under Pages>Home(one of the pages)>Edit. I wasn’t aware that certain features come with certain themes! Thanks for sharing this information.

Which theme are you practicing on, TwentyThirteen?

Yes, I was practicing on Twenty Thirteen!
I’ve downloaded a new Theme from WordPress site for practice and the good thing is this theme has all the stuff that were missing in twenty thirteen. Thanks for the tip!
