• I’m trying to figure out how to add editable static non-changing content to my main homepage, in addition to the list of recent posts.

I know that I can go to Appearance > Editor > Main Index Template and write content right after the <div id=”content”> tag.

But that is not easily editable. I want to be able to edit it like any other page that is created in wordpress.

Basically, I want to make my homepage a wordpress page. Possible?

  • In the dashboard under settings–> Reading you can set Front Page to the created page of your choice.

To put it another way: how do I add a list of all my posts to any generic page?

(This is the same thing, since I know you can set the front page to be any other page)

    Just titles or posts?

Dude, call me stupid if you want, but I don’t understand any of these answers or the thread of that latest topic… but I have an answer and its how I did it. Create a page called blog (or whatever) and a page called home(even if there already is a page called home) go to settings >> reading, and change the front page to home and the post page to blog. Then just go and re-order your pages.

Another prob I had after that, was that although the blog page is my post page, there was still a menu link called home that had no purpose, so in essance I had 2 home links on my menu, so I just went into the header.php and there was <li>Home</li> with some extra html attached that I just deleted. and… Bobs your uncle.. lol!!

    Hope this helps!
