Perhaps in a text widget or in your theme’s template files. However, it’s a much better idea to take advantage of the plugin for its WordPress integration: placement options, display/load refinements, and permalink sharing on index/archive pages (making sure the correct link gets shared among a list of posts), etc.

It’s a very lightweight plugin if that’s your concern.

Thank you. Yes I try t avoid plugins when not necessary, even light, because I get bored with conflicts or fear of updates. Less plugins used means less problems and future problems.
