• Hello,

I have a question. I like the twenty fifteen theme, but…I miss a slider.
I was searching for information of copiieng the Twenty Fourteen slider. But could not find the right information anywhere.

Is it possible to copy the Twenty Fourteen slider and use this for another theme like Twenty Fifteen?

I gave it a try but did something wrong and I broke my child-theme ??

Now I am using the basic Metaslider plugin. It is ok, but not the right solution I think.

    Thanks in forward!

    Greetz Gojero.

  • I would like to do the same thing. It’s disappointing that no one has an answer after so many months.

I created a child theme and copied all of the files and functions that appeared to be related to the slider and to “featured content,” including the customizer, but it doesn’t work.

What files and code are needed to restore the Twenty Fourteen Featured Content Slider to a child theme of Twenty Fifteen? Are there any functions that I need to change or dequeue? And how do I do that?

I’m sorry that I don’t have a link, because I’m testing it on my localhost.

    Thank you for your comment.

I am also disappointed. I was thinking I was the only one who wanted this to realize.

I think the slider work with jetpack or something. Still don’t know…LOL
It is using flex slider. https://www.woothemes.com/flexslider/

Now I am using the Sketch Theme. It works very well! This theme contains Flexslider.

But I really like the Twenty Fifteen theme.
The upcoming Twenty Sixteen should be a crossover between Sketch and Fifteen. That would be wonderful!

I am going to publish my website this week. https://www.jeroengotz.nl
