Add User to Mail List Upon Creation

    Hello,

    I wanted to use the “Welcome” feature of Mail Poet to send welcome emails to all users created on the website.

    We do not let users create their accounts, only creating accounts approved by us. B2B.

    Is there a way to manually add users to the welcome mail lists from the create a user menu in the admin menu? I figured that checking off “Send User Notification” would make the welcome email get sent, but apparently that uses an unformatted email from WordPress Core, rather than my mail poet integration.

    Note: I had already created the welcome email campaign, and activated it. This was a troubleshooting step for me

    Hi there @evenimous,

    As you found, that “Send User Notification” option is a core WordPress function, and unrelated to MailPoet lists or welcome emails.

    There’s no built-in way to automatically add a user to a specific list from the Add New User screen (aside from the WordPress Users list, though they would be added as Unconfirmed).

    The closest built-in option would be to set the Welcome emails to be triggered by a new User Role instead of being added to a list, then on the Add New User screen, you could select the specific role and it should trigger the Welcome email (though they’d still be added as Unconfirmed initially).
