added meta tags but WP won’t update them

    I’v tried adding meta keywords and a new title into my header.php file as directed by a thread i saw within this forum. problem is even though it say it updated the file i see no changes.

    I even went so far as to delete the all the code fomr my header.php file (leaving the window blank) it say it updated i go to my site and voila no change! i figured at least it would pop up with errors but nothing. it’s a template from leadcamp not sure if it means anything.

    help please this is really frustrating

    soooooo….nobody out of the thousands of wordpress users on here has ever tried to insert metatags into their wordpress themes?

    Are you editing the theme that is currently active?
    Have you forced your browser to refresh the page or tried another browser to see if that loads the fresh content?
    When you go back to the header.php in the editor has it reverted back to how it was, or still showing your edits?
    Are you running any caching plugins?

    3. no it does show my changes it just won’t load with the changes. and when i view the source code my title shows the old and there is no meta-keywords. but yes if i return to the editor my header.php file showed my changes still.

    From what you describe the changes should be being shown. Perhaps you could paste the contents of your header.php into a pastebin and that will allow people to see if there is some logical error.

    ok so wow…not sure why but i gave it one more shot and this time it took!

    the title is now cutsomized and the meta tags show…not sure why this wasn’t working until now. I had to completely reload my entire template theme which seemed to do the trick.

    Not sure but good that it is working now

    I suggest next time waiting way more than an hour before dispensing sarcasm
