Adding a badge to my blog

    Okay, I have no idea what I’m doing wrong!

    I have read through the archives and have taken all the steps listed.

    Through Appearance/Widgets/Image(Jetpack)to place it in sidebar 2

    I have this from the website whose badge I want to use:

    <img src=”https://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b20/ilvcml/CTS/cts_badge.jpg&#8221; alt=”CAS(E) this Sketch” width=”200″ height=”170″ />

    I placed it in image URL and added a title. The title appears but the badge does not. Thinking I put it in the wrong spot I moved it to alternate text. Still nothing.

    So I placed the image in my media library and used that URL and tried it that way…still nothing but the widget title.

    What the heck am I doing wrong??

  • Try just adding the image link as the image url in the widget:
    https://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b20/ilvcml/CTS/cts_badge.jpg
    (or your media file image location instead of the above).
    and then add the link url separately below in the widget link field (if you want it to link, that is).

    I did that.

    I added the image link I’ve shown above and when that didn’t work I tried my media file location…neither appear.

    It seems so simple a task. I just don’t know what’s wrong.

    I added the link with no problem, but since I can’t get any image to appear no matter what I try, I don’t know if the link works.

    The image link you’ve shown above is more than the image: it’s a linked image. Just add the image url as I mentioned above, without the enclosing <a> tags.

    Actually, I found the answer…perhaps a different answer than you’re offering, but it worked in the end.

    I was trying to add this under image widget and when it was suggested I add it under text widget, it worked.
