Hi, I’ve been trying to add a contact form to my pop up and the shortcode is displaying rather than the contact form. I’m not sure what I’m doing incorrect and I tried to look back in the forum’s history and did not see anything. Sorry if I missed someone else asking.

The shortcode is through the standard Jetpack contact form.

  • Hey there stardustent,

    How are you doing today?

Shortcodes should work when placed in the popup content, would you mind letting me know what exact shortcode are you using so I can test this on my own install?

Also we did have issues with only the preview, so in case you’re checking that please also check the front end for the actual popup.

    Please let me know ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan

    Hello,

I’m having the same problem. This is the code that was automatically generated in the Main Popup Content field:

    [contact-form to='(my email here)' subject='Tax e-Newsletter']
    [contact-field label='Name' type='name' required='1'/]
    [contact-field label='Email' type='email' required='1'/]
    [/contact-form]

However, on the actual popup only [contact-form] shows up.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey there bcaccounting,

That’s pretty odd, I did make a few tests and everything seems to be working just fine, see screenshot https://screencast.com/t/0m6JAP6xb.

Can you try pasting the code manually instead of adding it via add form button?

    Please let me know ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan

Hi, I’m having the same problem with Contact Form 7. Your online rep suggested I come here for a fix. Thanks.

    Hey there,

Did you try what I suggested above? Simply pasting the shortcode instead of using the add form button worked for me.

    Best regards,
    Bojan

Hi, I have the same problem. I’ve pasted the shortcode but same problem. Same problem with ContactForm7 plugin. It just shows the code, not the form. Any suggestions?

Hi, I have the same problem. I’ve pasted the shortcode but same problem. It just shows the code, not the form. Same problem with ContactForm7 plugin, but here it also gives a 404 error:

    [contact-form-7 404 “Not Found”]

If I put that same code in a Page, the form shows up OK. Any suggestions?

    Hey again guys,

I’ve tested this on my sandbox site with Popup and ContactForm7 and everything worked properly, please see screenshot https://screencast.com/t/F9qytWH98.

On the left side you can see my popup page in admin and on the right side you can see popup on the front.

Just a quick question are you checking this on the front end of the site or you’re using popup preview from the admin? The reason I ask is because there is a stripslashes issue with the preview window in the admin preventing shortcodes and images from being displayed properly. For that problem I’ve already provided a solution in the thread here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/mailpoet-shortcode?replies=6#post-7587456.

    Please let me know ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan
