• Hello,

I added a custom field to a venue page, but it is not showing up on the front end. How can I get it to show up?

    Thanks.

  • Hi!

    Thanks for reaching out!

In that case you’ll need to edit your theme to call this newly created custom field. You could also use a plugin for that, depending on how you’ve created the custom fields.

    Kind Regards,

I added the field with the Custom Fields plugin. Backend works fine, but it is not showing up on the front end of the site. What template modified the venue page? Thanks.

    Hi!

That depends on the theme you are using. In our plugin files you can find it under sportspress/templates/event-venue.php

    Thanks!

I am using the Rookie theme. I apologize if I am totally missing something, but I am not having any luck modifying the event-venue.php file in the plugin.

I created a new custom field for the venue that adds an iFrame of the race course map. The field appears in the admin and a preview of the iframe shows up fine in the admin. Once I update the venue, nothing happens on the venue page itself on the live page.

If you have any hints on how to make this work, I would very much appreciate it.

    Thank you.

    Hi!

Thanks for your reply and your explanation.

In that case, you’ll need some custom code indeed. Unfortunately, that is beyond the scope of our support.

Since the venues are a taxonomy it’s a bit harder to edit them. You may need to look into other files such as the category.php file (theme) or use some debugging skills to figure out which file is being loaded for the section you want to edit.

    Thanks!
