• Gidday all

I wish to add another menu at the bottom of the page, but above the footer which will link to pages.

I added the ‘footer menu’ as per the video on lynda.com for the twenty twelve theme, but the footer menu displayed EVERY page for my site and I could not remove unwanted headings in the menu options. For this reason, I removed that footer menu.

Child theme in use for: https://www.mcdonnellslegal.com.au

The purpose of the menu is to allow for supplementary links to pages containing privacy informatiion, and terms of use.

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

    Cheers.

  • Although I’ve not seen the video on lynda.com, I wonder if you added the desired pages (like privacy, etc.) to the footer menu within the WordPress admin section.

Alternatively, did you assign the footer menu to the footer menu location on the Manage Locations within the Appearance > Menus section of your website?

Hello again – further thought to consider: Did you try to add the menu to the footer via a widget (Appearance > Widgets) or via the Menus section (Appearance > Menus)?

    Hi Liam

    Thank you for your replies.

The menu was added above the footer area using Appearance > Menus, after the relevant code was added to functions.php and footer.php files. Unfortunately I was unable to select the pages for that menu as previously mentioned.

I have a feeling I’ve removed the Widgets area as I think I now only have the main page area and the footer to use.

I think to achieve what I want, which is another menu somewhere near the bottom on the page but within the white area, I may have to move the “Liability limited…” and “? 2015 Copyright…” lines or recode them.

I’m not precious on the exact formatting, as long as I have the following at the bottom of the page, for example:

Privacy information | Terms of use
    Liability limited ….
    ? 2015 Copyright ….

If the above is centered and privacy and terms can be linked to relevant pages, I’d be very happy indeed.

I hope the above assists you to make further comments/recommendations.

    Thanks for your time.
