Adding a PDF via the “File” Block

    I’m feeling really stupid because I can’t seem to make a file upload to a block work properly.

    I make a new post
    Add a block: type = File
    Use upload
    Give the file a name
    Click “copy URL”
    Save/Publish

    View the post, the download button returns “File not found” however, the file was properly added to the media library in the upload.

    I must be doing something really stupid wrong- help!

    I have resolved this issue. Then problem was the theme that was being used. It was using the old TwentyTwelve theme. When I activated a newer theme, I had the ability to select “media file” and it works.

    I prefer the Twenty Twelve theme for the use, so I’ll explore if there is a way to make it work with an updated version of that theme or find another theme I like.
