Adding a plugin after the first post

i have a plugin that lists Most Active Discussions and it works fine – i’m trying to configure the query for while (have_posts()) : the_post(); to list just ONE post and then i want to stick this plugin after the first post and have the remainder of the loop continue after the plugin call.

can anyone decipher what i’m trying to explain and offer a hand? ??
