adding a search box/results page to WP

I’ve been trying to add a Adsense for search box on my wp blog, I was able to insert the box no problem, but I’m not sure where or how I would insert the result page code which is made for my search results.php page and I don’t want to use a plugin, so where would I insert my code for the search results page?
