I use the feature to Add/Update when Order created because I run a service business and need tags to work from the start of the work. This works fine until I finish the work and then set the order as complete. When I do this it applies the tag again to the client which then confuses my Automation funnel. Is this a bug or is meant to be this way.

Hi there. Please can you let me know the following WC-AC Hook settings:

Do you have the ‘Add/Update Contact’ checked for when order created? (I guess so but just to confirm).

Do you have the ‘Track Order Status’ checked or not? (I would think not but if it is checked that could be your problem).

I would also suggest enabling the debug log in case we need to look at a specific case.

It should not apply the tag again (as long as the tag still exists). But once you confirm the settings, I can retest again to be certain that nothing has changed.

For peace of mind, you can also set the automation to be only run once.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Yes I have the Add/Update Status checked.
I do not have Track Order Status checked.
I have the debug log enabled.
There might be a chance that an automation funnel removes the tag before I complete the order. I would have thought that regardless whether the tag is there or not if I have the Add/Update Status checked then it should assume it already applied that tag and shouldn’t attempt it on completion.
If this is not the case then I will need to rethink my automation funnels to prevent the chance of the tag getting removed before I complete the order.

Yes if the tag was deleted it would be re-created on order completion. I would not argue with you that it is a reasonable idea to not recreate, but there is a case for working either way. So I am reluctant to change the behaviour as it may adversely effect other plugin users.

As you suggest, please rethink the automation funnels you have (and use the runs once option on triggers if appropriate or helpful).

Thanks for using the plugin and I hope you can find a workaround.

This is obviously totally up to you and if it is too hard and you don’t want to do it then that is fine. My idea is what if instead of having to change it for everyone you added an extra checkbox for ‘Do Not Send The Tag after Completion’ The default setting could be unticked so it will work the same as is for everyone else and for me I could tick the box and have it work the way I want it.

    Thanks

Hi there. I will make a note to do this. It is obviously not so difficult but I just didn’t want you to be waiting on it, as I can’t guarantee when it will happen. I plan to do an upgrade to use ActiveCampaign deep data integration (to share more order data), and I will pick up other bits and pieces (like your request) when I do that (as it is certainly more convenient for me to do a few things together when I have time). I just haven’t got a timetable, other than ‘sometime this year’, which is not very helpful for you.

I fully understand that and thank you for considering adding my request to the next version.

Hi. I have setup the plugin to integrate with ActiveCampaign, inclusive of ensuring that the ‘ActiveCampaign Tag’ field within the product’s ‘Advanced Settings’ has a tag written in, however, when an order is placed, it doesn’t seem to create a new contact in AC, and thus, it doesn’t add in my tag or doesn’t trigger the automation.

I have selected the field ‘Add/Update Contact’. I have unselected ‘Track Order Status’

In AC, I have created a form (because it seems this is necessary), and set it so that the tag will be added each time the form is ‘triggered’. I have checked with AC Support Team, and they advised the rest of automation is setup correctly, so it seems I just need to ensure WooCommerce contact AND tag feeds across correctly when an order is placed for the automation to then begin.
