I was trying to add Traitware to an additional site. I loaded the plugin, activated it, scanned the QR code on the backend, got the activation e-mail on the front end at my gmail address (which is the address I am registered with trait ware with and the admin user e-mail for my site… so it SHOULD WORK?)

And when I scan this bar code it tells me that there is an error – no go

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Hello! Thank you for reaching out on this issue and moving the topic to our forums so we could share your experience with other users. We have done some testing on our end and this is something we will be fixing in our next update. What you experienced was TraitWare looking for the email that you used for your initial account when you tried to setup your second site. However, because the emails were different, the account on the new site was treated as a new user. While the site was added and active, TraitWare had nothing to compare to on WordPress to verify your identity to actually log in to the site using our app.

If you are adding additional sites as an Account Owner, for versions up to v1.2 of the plugin, you will need to make sure that you are signed in with an account that has the same email address as the initial account that was used to setup TraitWare.

If the site does not have that email, the simplest solution is to just create a new user with that email. Changing the email on WordPress requires more work and time than necessary.

We are working on the next version of the plugin which will include a fix for this and will not require any changes to be manually done. The account owner will be able to be logged in with any email, and TraitWare will make the necessary modifications to make sure the login remains as secure as possible.

Let us know if you need anything else!
