Please see post-17915743 In addition to the problem deleting attribute terms when there are too many to fit in the window and/or they have long names, there is also a small problem when adding new terms that I thought I should make you aware of.

You click in the window, a drop-down appears and you select a new term. The window then moves so that the bottom of it is at the bottom of the page. The drop-down is unusable because only one term is visible. Then, when you click in the window the drop-down appears. If you then scroll-up and click in the window again, you can see enough terms to use it but, after the delay, it moves. If you’re faster than it is, you click on the wrong term.

Hey there, @someguy42! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Yeah, unfortunately I was not able to see the issue on the video.

Do you mind sharing a new one so we can take a look?

If you wish, you can also share it directly on the GitHub report on this issue here.

    Have a wonderful day!

I’m not sure what happened to the first video. Here’s another one. The attribute?window is at the top of the screen. I added a term and it moved to the bottom. (I had to hide the loom link). Scroll up. Add another term and it moves to the bottom of the screen. At that position, you can only see the first term and can’t scroll.

The second problem is the delay. When you click in the window, a drop-down appears with “searching” and then it moves when it’s done searching. I’m pretty fast (and inpatient) so I often select the wrong term. (The delay is probably unavoidable because this attribute has 5400 terms but I wonder if it would be better to not show anything until it’s done searching. )

My questions for post-17915743 and this one is: Why move the window at all? Why not just leave it where it is?

    Hi @someguy42

You seem to be experiencing a UI issue where the attribute window is moving around when you’re trying to add new terms. Do you experience this issue on all browsers or just specific ones? However, this is certainly not the intended behavior, and possibly we’ve got a similar report here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/50041

The reported issue occurred while we tried to remove the attributes. In your case, it happened while adding attributes. However, the best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront or Twenty Twenty-Four
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you do not see the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To determine which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

If the issue persists even after conducting a conflict test, then I recommend either contributing to that GitHub report or submitting a new one with your findings so that our developer team can check and provide further insights.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
