Adding audio to blog not working (audio shortcode)

Hi,
I’m trying the instructions as seen at the support page (https://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/).
I’m adding the audio shortcode plus the location of the mp3 file. The audio player will not appear, instead I see it as normal text.Any help would be highly appreciated.
