Adding borders/shadows to an image in Image Widget

Hi there.

Image Widget does an automatic resize to fit an image into a sidebar. However, if I add a border or a shadow to the image on my page/post and then drop it into Image Widget the border/shadow doesn’t resize with the image to fit the sidebar.

This means I have to save a copy of the image at the precise sidebar dimensions so that the image doesn’t have to change size leaving the border correctly around it, before using image widget which slightly defeats the purpose of the widget.

Is there a way round this? I hope I’m being clear. I guess another way to ask the question is: is there a way of linking image and border so that both react in the same way to the widget’s own resizing function?
