Hi, thanks firstly for the amazing plugin, this should be built in as standard on the Events plugin!!

The colours are working perfectly on the monthly calendar when the calendar is full width, but on one of my pages, the calendar is in a column that’s 50% width and it looks like it’s reverting to a smaller calendar and the names are missing, instead replaced by a dot (icon) – think this is a mobile view due to the size of the div.

Is it at all possible to change the colour of the icon on the smaller calendar? I’ve tried looking at how your plugin is built to see if I can add a class to the icon that references the categories the event are in, but can’t figure it out.

If you could add this functionality, or maybe advise how I can modify the calendar-body/day template to include the category as a class it’d be hugely helpful.

    Hope that makes sense!

    Hey Aaron!

Prior to the v2 views on The Events Calendar the mobile view did show colors instead of dots. Unfortunately the way the new views are they simply don’t include the necessary data in those small date squares.

You might be able to adjust your column width so that the mobile view doesn’t display when you don’t want it. Sorry, no other great solutions.

    Hi Andy.

    Thanks for the speedy reply!!

I’ll look into editing the template that shows the icon and see if I can pull in the event categories, then I can change the colour with a class.

Any advice on how I can call in the event categories would be helpful, but no worries if not. Thanks again!

I think TEC has a function, or they used to, to insert all the category classes. I don’t recall the name, sorry.
