Your documentation says you don’t need to add any content to a static frontpage if you select the “widgetized homepage template.” OK, fine–but how do you add that content into the widget? Can’t find anything in the documentation about how to place stuff into any of the widgets.

Maybe I am missing something somewhere. Please point me to that. Your theme/template demos look great. Love to use it and maybe upgrade to premium but not if I can’t even make use of the free one.

  • Hi swjack14,

thanks for using MH Magazine lite.

The included custom widgets list your posts and that’s the content which you can see on the front page in the theme demo. That means you simply need to place widgets on your front page, select the particluar category you want to display posts from and that’s it.

Of course it’s required that you have published some posts on your website first and have assigned these posts to particluar categories. If you don’t have any content on your website yet, then there is no content to show.

If you’re not familiar with creating posts in WordPress or in case you’ve not used categories before, then this might be helpful as well:

I’ve been using WordPress for several years and already have two other blogs so I am very familiar with creating posts and pages. The one I am working on now moves content from a Joomla CMS to WordPress. Sorry, just can’t make your theme work. Thanks anyway.

WordPress themes usually don’t move content from Joomla to WordPress, you’re probably referring to a plugin, as this would be plugin territory. However, if you can’t figure it out, then please provide detailed information about where you are stuck and also provide the link to your website so that we can see your progress.

You really just need to create and set a static front page, assign the widgetized Homepage template to your static front page and then simply place your widgets, that’s it.

In case you don’t know how to set the static front page, then please refer to this tutorial and there even is a video available that shows this step by step.
