Adding custom content to popup from post?

Can I have a popup show content that is specified differently in each individual post? Eg. Say in the post I have some code customvariable=’abcdef’, then this gets passed to the popup so it can say ‘welcome to abcdef’ or something – then in a different post it might be customvariable=’aaa’ instead, and then the popup would say ‘welcome to aaa’.

This is for a popup that will appear automatically (without the user clicking on anything).
