Adding Customizer controls using a plugin

  • I’ve got the same customizer code running as a plugin and as a theme (child theme of Twenty Sixteen), and they create different results.

    The code in the theme works great. The section shows, everything saves, it’s all good.

    The code in the plugin adds the section, control, etc, but then it’s “hidden” from the list by the customizers JavaScript, so it can’t be used.

    Does anyone know if or why there’s a difference adding customizer controls through a theme or a plugin?
