Adding dates to excerpt in Category Archive

    Hi there,
    This will probably be easiest explained by taking a look at my site, but here’s a basic description of what I want to do. I am using WP to run a photo blog, where every post is basically just a picture. I’m using a thumbnail in the excerpts, and my archives are set up to just display the excerpt and the date. The result is a nice thumbnail view of my archives, by category, date, etc.

    If you look at an example category page you’ll see that everything displays nicely, but some posts aren’t showing the date. These are the days when I have posted more than one photo per day.

    Is there any way to get the date to show on each and every post, whether there’s more than one post for that date or not?

    Hi Dalton….

    Yes, there is. You have to change (within the loop) <?php the_time() ?>. See this page here: Template_Tags/the_date

    Excellent, that was just what I needed! Thanks. I should have known to look in the codex under the_date instead of archives, but it was getting late, you know?
