hi there, im facing a rather silly problem lately.

i was wondering if it possible to add extra tax to a specific category in a shop.

Reason for that is, the shop has a 23% tax rate, works fine, and now a product category, is getting an extra tax rate, so this has to be added to the final price.

had anybody with something like that to deal ?
is it hard to implement, or is there a specific plugin that can do something like that ?

    any help would be appreciated

Not to a specific category but you can do it by product. So you just create an additional tax class and set the product to that tax class.

than you royho for your reply. i’m aware that i can create different tax rates, lets say

    tax rate 01 = 23% (standard rate)
    tax rate 02 = 23 % + added rate for specific category/product

and choose for that product (or all products in a specific category) tax rate 02.

but the thing is, i cant split the 2 tax rates at the checkout, so the client/customer sees that hes paying the normal tax rate – AND – the added new tax rate on top of the normal :/

so i am looking for something like an extra field.

    thank you again

If you use tax classes, and in tax settings you display taxes “itemised” they will be split.

all right then, im going to give it a try, to “itemize” them, hopefully this solves this issue.

going to report back the results.

    thank you again
