adding facebook like page plugin code in patus child theme?

  • my site disappeared after i put facebook codes, I edited these files
    appearance> editor> header.php
    appearance> editor> sidebar
    so tht means wordpress files are intact and restoring only theme folder will restore site…?
    or tell me a safe way to add these facebook codes like child theme way…
