Adding Google AdWords Tracking Pixel to Home Page ONLY

  • The problem here isn’t actually getting the code and pasting it to wherever it needs to go. This is what I need:

    I am running a remarketing campaign through Google AdWords for a client and I want to only add a tracking cookie to people who come to the website from an email blast that is going to be sent out. My only solution that I can think of for this would be to have a “copy” of the homepage setup that I can send people to who open the email, this way it can put the cookie on their browser and not all visitors to the site. Would like it to point to all the same content the homepage has if possible. This might not even be a question for the WordPress forums, but it’s worth a shot. BTW, the website I’m doing this for is a WordPress site ( thought I would make that clear). Thanks!

  • I wouldn’t use your homepage. If it was me, i’d set up a separate landing page and tailor that specifically to the marketing campaign. That way you can use a separate page template for it, and set up any extra scripts, cookies, etc, for that template so that page is the only one that uses any of that.
