    Hi guys,

There are a couple of buttons at the bottom of my WordPress admin now, saying that I can add items to my structured data, and I was wondering if – on my blog posts – it would be possible to add images to my articles (articles are my blog posts).

I’ve tried editing the additional schema by adding fields, and adding Image>>Featured Image, then when that didn’t work I added Image>>Manual url.

That didn’t work either, as at the bottom of my structured data for the post in both cases, there was an error message:

    image
A value for the image field is required.

    …and a warning message:

    image
The image field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.

Is it possible to add images to articles or am I pushing for too much?

First Of all thank you for using our plugin.

For some of the schema types ( Article, NewsArticle, Blogposting, TechArticle, Webpage etc.), We can find all the required data to add in schema markup from the post itself so you do not need to modify anything. Just add schema type and select Advance display condition, Rest plugin will collect all the data from post internally. Yes if you want to modify certain field globally or post specifically you can do so.

And just add the default image in global settings tab. If structured data do not find any image than it take from there.

    Hope this clears you doubts.

    One more thing

If you modify current schema after going on a particular post than its all control will be handle by that post only for that post. In this case if you modify schema output from saswp custom post type, It will not be reflected on that post.

Yes, I’ve just noticed that the image is already there in the data.

So now that’s sorted, just one more thing:

    FEATURE REQUEST

Can we have a little button on the website admin bar so that the testing tool can be accessed from any page, rather than having to find the testing tool url, then the page url, or access it from inside the documentation and find the url’s again?

    Just makes sense to me.

Yeah, This will be a very good option. We have raised a ticket on github.
