Adding images to existing RL Lightbox Gallery

Having a problem adding images to an existing RL Lightbox gallery. I click the Select Images button and it goes to the media library with nothing selected so any images added become the only images in the gallery.
On small sites this seems to work okay. On a site with a LOT of images in the library, it seems like it never selects the existing images.
I know Media Folders are an alternate way to solve this but we’re using Media Library Assistant and I’m not sure the Media Folder modifications to the Media Library UI will play nice with the MLA modifications.
